Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Submission Deadline: 15-Aug-2026

The conference invites researchers, professors, and students to submit proposals for presentations in French or English on all areas of linguistics. We welcome work from all theoretical and methodological approaches, in a spirit of openness and interdisciplinary dialogue.

As is customary, the conference highlights a special theme, while continuing to welcome proposals on any topic in linguistics. APLA46 explores the place of language in artistic creation, including music, literature, visual arts, cinema, and audiovisual media. The theme “Language and Artistic Practices: Linguistic Perspectives” was chosen in connection with the opening keynote address by Professor Jason Noble, a musician and researcher whose work innovatively explores the interactions between language and musical creation. His presentation will provide an inspiring starting point for discussions and paper presentations during the conference. Proposals may address the role of language in the processes of creation, performance, analysis, and reception, as well as the relationships between language, text, sound, and image.
