Description:

The Distributional Linguistics Lab at the Department of Comparative Language Science of the University of Zurich (https://www.ivs.uzh.ch/en/DLL.html) invites applications for a (non-tenured) senior researcher position (100%) in typological/comparative/historical linguistics.

The successful candidate develops a research profile that relates to the general theme of the lab and complements ongoing projects. Senior researchers are expected to acquire external funding to start their own independent group for the duration of their contract (up to 6 years). The position includes teaching obligations (1 course per semester, BA or MA level), directing theses, and advising junior staff. Applicants must have at least 3 years of research experience after obtaining their PhD and a track record of excellent publications.

The department places great emphasis on teamwork and on multidisciplinary perspectives. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
