Le RCFC (créé en 2014) met en commun différents projets d’étude de diachronie de la langue française. Ces études, basées sur des corpus, s’intéressent en particulier aux variations et aux changements, à la grammaticalisation et à l’histoire des genres et des traditions textuelles. Les textes à disposition vont des sermons aux correspondances, des traductions aux ego-documents. Ces sources constituent une importante base textuelle pour l’étude de l’histoire de la langue française. Plusieurs d’entre elles ont par ailleurs une dimension historique européenne non négligeable, dans les domaines des discours politiques et religieux ou de la communication informelle.

The research network RCFC (founded in 2014) brings together projects on the diachrony of French. It is particularly concerned with the study of variation and change, grammaticalization and the history of textual traditions using a corpus-based approach. The repertoire of texts ranges from sermons to correspondence and from translations to ego-documents. These sources make an important contribution to the textual basis for the study of the history of the French language. Many of the texts also have important implications for the study of European history, covering domains such as political and religious discourse and informal communication.
