Ecole thématique SemanticShifts 2022

 Chères et chers collègues, nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer la tenue de l’école thématique “Semantic shifts from lexicon to grammar – diachronic and typological perspectives” au centre IGESA (Fréjus), du 12 au 23 septembre 2022.

L’objectif principal de cette école thématique est d’explorer l’intersection entre deux domaines majeurs de la recherche en sémantique, la sémantique grammaticale et lexicale, en incluant une perspective interdisciplinaire comprenant linguistique aréale et contact linguistique, typologie lexicale, diachronie ainsi qu’approches TAL et outillées.

Pour cette école d’été, nous avons choisi un format « plénières », sans sessions parallèles : les participant.e.s pourront ainsi suivre l’ensemble des séminaires et ateliers. Les cours seront donnés en anglais. Deux après-midi ont été réservées pour discussions entre participant.e.s : étudiant.e.s en master & doctorat, post-doctorant.e.s, chercheur.e.s et enseignant.e.s-chercheur.e.s.

Summer School Announcement

 We are pleased to announce that the CNRS 2022 Summer School on “Semantic shifts from lexicon to grammar – diachronic and typological perspectives” will be held at the IGESA centre in Fréjus on the French Riviera from 12^th to 23^rd September 2022, following its postponement in 2020 due to the epidemic.

The main objective of this Summer School is to explore the crossover between two focal areas of research in semantics – grammaticalization and lexical semantics – from a range of interdisciplinary perspectives such as language contact, areal linguistics, lexical typology and diachrony, as well as computer-assisted methodologies and tools.

The 2022 summer school has opted for a plenary format: Participants will be able to attend all twelve courses and workshops, as no parallel sessions have been scheduled. The courses will be presented in English. Two afternoons have also been set aside for discussion between the participants who, apart from the presenters, will comprise master and doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and scholars​.​
