A postdoctoral research position (TV-L EG 13) for further qualification (e.g. “habilitation”) is available from August 1st, 2020 at the Institut für Linguistik/Romanistik. This is a fixed-term position according to the provisions of the German “wissenschaftliches Zeitvertragsgesetz” (typically 6 years for a “habilitation”).
Applicants will have a doctorate in Romance linguistics and will show specialization in historical linguistics by means of publications and/or a short research proposal, focusing on French or Italian. Links between applicants’ research and a planned collaborative project exploring the interface between historical linguistics and language acquisition, language contact, psycholinguistics and NLP are desirable. The position includes a teaching requirement of 4 hours per week in French and possibly Italian linguistics and participation in the administrative tasks of the department. Exceptional applicants in the final phase of their doctoral research will also be considered.
